Spectra 1738 Security Systems
1. My keypad Chime no longer works and my exit and entry delay no longer make any noise on my Spectra keypad.
All Spectra keypads have a mute feature that is enabled by pressing and holding the [CLEAR] button for 3 seconds. A rejection beep indicates that mute has been disabled;hence, allowing the chime, entry and exit delay to sound.
2. Is the chime and mute feature on all Spectra keypads the same?
‘Mute’ can be activated/deactivated by pushing the ‘CLEAR’ key for 3-seconds on ALLSpectra keypads.
‘Chime’ however, has a different process depending on the keypad;
1686H/V - Press on the desired zone number from the keypad for 3-seconds toenable/disable chiming for that zone.
1689/1641 – Press and hold the number 9 key for 3-seconds, and enter the zone youwish to chime.
Please note: that the 1686H/V keypad is a 10-zone LED-keypad; therefore, zones 11 –16 cannot be chimed or displayed.
3. How do I modify the NOTES labels in my 1641 keypad?
1- Press and hold the 0 key for few seconds
2- Enter the correct 6-digit keypad programming code. Default : [000000]
3- Select labels [1]
4- Enter section [500] to [507]
5- Enter the notes that you want and press ENTER to save.
4. My Spectra 1738 Security System is beeping, what do I do?
Press the [TBL] or [TRBL] key to view the Trouble Display.
Note: The keypad is programmed to emit a BEEP every 5 seconds whenever a new trouble condition has occurred. Press the [TBL] or [TRBL] key to stop the beeping.
[1] - No Battery or Low Battery
[2] - Wireless Transmitter Low Battery
[3] - Power Failure
[4] - Bell Output Disconnected
[5] - Maximum Bell Current
[6] - Maximum Auxiliary Current
[7] - Communicator Report Failure
[8] - Timer Loss*
[9] Tamper or Zone Wiring Failure*
[10] Telephone Line Monitoring Failure
[11]/[STAY] - Fire Loop Trouble*
[12]/[BVP] - Module Loss
[13]/[MEM] - Wireless Transmitter Supervision Loss*
[14]/[FORCE] and [TBL]/[TRBL] flashes - Keypad Fault
*press the illuminated key ([9], [STAY] or [MEM]) to view which zones are causing the trouble.
** press [8] to re-program time
5. What if my system needs servicing/repairs?
